Central Switzerland

The area to the South of Luzern offers many excellent tours. The mountains are maybe not as high as the rest of Switzerland, Galenstock at 3500m being the highest, however accessibilty and the many huts dotted around the area make it an attractive location for touring. There are also numerous very long (2000m) descents from the top of some of the mountains. So the pattern is: Climb to the hut on the Saturday, reach the summit on the Sunday morning, and then enjoy a long descent to relax and have a well earnt lunch in a nice Swiss restaurant.
